Flower pollination algorithm with pollinator attraction

The Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is a highly efficient optimization algorithm that inspired by the evolution process of flowering plants. In present study, modified version FPA proposed accounting for an additional feature flower pollination in nature so-called pollinator attraction. Pollinator attraction represents natural tendency species to evolve order attract pollinators using their colour, shape and scent as well nutritious rewards. To reflect this mechanism, variant with Attraction (FPAPA) provides fitter flowers population higher probabilities achieving pollen transfer via biotic than other flowers. FPAPA tested against set 28 benchmark mathematical functions, defined IEEE-CEC’13 real-parameter single-objective problems, structural problems. Numerical experiments show statistically significant improvement upon original it can outperform state-of-the-art algorithms offering better more robust optimal solutions. Additional research suggested combine hybridized versions further increase its performance challenging
